Trinity Beach, Cairns has always been Cairns locals’ favourite beaches suburb. It is also increasingly popular as a tourist-destination. The population of Trinity Beach has been on average, an older population, comprising many residents who have come from national and international destinations to enjoy our tropical paradise. However, with the recent stages in numerous developments including Blue Water Estate, many younger people are taking advantage of new home ownership in contemporary surroundings. An easy 25 minutes drive South will take you to the CBD and International Airport and a 10 drive to the cosmopolitan village atmosphere of Palm Cove and 30 minutes from there to Port Douglas.
As there is a mixture of residential homes and apartments, many of which are holiday apartments along the palm fringed esplanade, there is a mix of owner occupiers, tenants, and holiday makers. Many retirees escape the busy cities and colder climates and now call Trinity Beach their home.
Trinity Beach has a family medical practice staffed by general practitioners and a nurse. Pathology services also operate within the surgery. The closest hospital is in Cairns city, about 20 minute drive South.
The Trinity Beach Sporting Precinct is the largest sporting precinct in the Northern Beaches. The venue is made up of multiple oval spaces, rectangular fields, baseball/softball diamonds as well as community spaces. The venue sees active participation in AFL, cricket, soccer, baseball and tennis, as well as the Marlin Coast Men’s Shed, SES and Meals on Wheels The precinct is supported by The Trinity Beach Sports Club, an arm of Cazaly’s AFL Club. There is also a Bowls Club. Further along Trinity Beach Road is Coastwatchers Park Youth Activity space. Trinity Beach Foreshore has great amenities including children’s playground, and covered seating with tables and BBQ’s. Trinity Beach Tavern is a hotel with full restaurant, drive through bottle shop, gaming facilities, as well as an apartment complex. Coastwatcher’s Youth Activity Park is a huge park with children’s playground, exercise equipment and skate park and covered seating and table making it ideal for family birthdays and Carols at Christmas time.
There is a small convenience shopping centre at Trinity Beach with a number of takeaway food outlets, a newsagent, a butcher, a bakery and a chemist. There is also a hair salon. The nearest major shopping centre is at Smithfield, about 8mins drive south. There are also smaller stores at Campus Shopping village.
There is a child care centre on the highway near Trinity Beach and a number of other options in the adjacent suburb of Smithfield.
Trinity Beach has a state primary school with Prep classes. There is a high school at Smithfield and a Catholic primary school, about 8mins drive south. Trinity Anglican has a primary campus at Kewarra Beach, about 7mins drive north.
Sunbus provides a public transport service to the area and taxis are available.
